South African passports holders require visas for most countries in the world. AC Travel Solutions can assist with visas where possible. Here is a list of general visa requirements and points to double check when applying for visas.

 

VISA / PASSPORT TIPS

 

Temporary South African Passports are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Many international countries like UK, Europe and USA have already banned South Africans from travelling on SA temporary passports due to security reasons, so make sure your travel document is in order

If you don’t have a South African passport , it takes approximately 4 – 6 weeks for Department of Home Affairs to issue a new passport.
However, should you need assistance an emergency passport, we are able to assist you in this regards

Make sure your passport is signed at the back. This is a visa requirement for some consulates and they will not hesitate to decline your visa should this requirement not be met.

Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return to South Africa. Many consulates will not issue the visa or allow you entry into their country if your passport is on the verge of expiry

Please ensure you have at least 3 blank pages available in your passport for visas and entry and exit stamps

Visas take anything between 1 – 14 days to process so allow yourself sufficient time for this

Always carry a few extra passport photos on hand – you never know when you will need them.

 

GENERAL VISA REQUIREMENTS

 

The visa requirements for visa applications vary for different countries and different passport holders, however, most consulates / embassies have a general list of requirements which are listed below. Please note this is a guideline only, and some consulates will only require half the info and others will require you to submit additional information.

• Permanent passport valid for at least 6 months after your return
• 2 colour identity photographs ( please check sizes as some countries require a different size to the standard passport photographs )
• Fully completed, signed and dated visa application form
• Copy of airline ticket
• Detailed travel itinerary
• Proof of accommodation
• Proof of sufficient funds
• Travel insurance certificate
• If travelling on business, a letter of invitation from the company you will be visiting **
• Letter from your company confirming employment ****

** Your letter of invitation should be on the visiting company’s letterhead and state the following
• Who you will be visiting
• The number of days / dates you will be visiting the customer
• Your reason for visiting

**** Your company letter of employment should be on a company letterhead and state the following
• Your position held at the company
• The number of years you have been employed at that company
• The name of the company you will be visiting and the purpose of your visit
• The number of days you will be on business / leave for and the date you will be returning to your resume your duties with the company
• Who will be covering your travel expenses for the duration of your trip
